The tire industry should move similarly to 2022. This is what the projections made by the National Association of the Tire Industry (ANIP) point out. According to the association, total domestic tire sales should increase by just 2% in 2023, from 56.5 million units sold in 2022 to 57.6 million this year.<\/p>\n
The association predicts an unstable economic scenario, with projections of a decline in sales of new vehicles and equipment and a drop in the agricultural harvest. These factors should directly impact the light commercial, agricultural and cargo segments, pointing to declines of 3.3%, 9.7% and 6.5%, respectively.<\/p>\n
Total sales of light commercial tires are expected to drop from 8.54 million units in 2022 to 8.27 million this year. Agricultural tires ended last year with 896,000 units sold and, for this year, the forecast is for 809,000 units sold.<\/p>\n
The cargo sector closed 2022 with 7.48 million units sold and the forecast for this year is 6.99 million tires sold, pointing to a drop of 6.5%.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will have another challenging year. National tire sales should show a slight growth, despite all the difficulties to be faced\u201d, analyzes Klaus Curt M\u00fcller, executive president of ANIP.<\/p>\n
